St. Paul has the proud distinction of being the only A.M.E. Church in Berkeley. St. Paul has served the local community since 1933, moving to the current location at 2024 Ashby Avenue in 1953. Our congregation has been served by a proud and distinctive group of pastors since its inception. Their foresight and Christian commitment have created a rich legacy and foundation upon which we continue to grow in service to the Lord and the Berkeley community.

St. Paul A.M.E. stands ready and willing to be a beacon light in the community. We strive to fulfill the spiritual needs of our members and friends, opening our doors and hearts to all. St. Paul A.M.E. Church offers a wide variety of programs to meet your individual and family needs. From Bible Study to the Liturgical Movement Ministry; Sunday School to our STARS: Students Taking Academic Responsibility Seriously, a warm welcome always awaits you at St. Paul.

St. Paul is conveniently located one block east of the Ashby Bart station and accessible by AC Transit bus lines #6, 15, and 43 which run adjacent to the church. From Highway 80 take the Ashby Avenue exit. Continue east approximately one mile. The friendly church is located between Adeline Street and Shattuck Avenue.
