Manna From Heaven Daily Breakfast Ministries
Rev. Jocelyn Golden and Brother David Williams
Monday – Saturday from 7:00 am – 8:30 am
Sunday 6:00 am to 7:00 am
The Manna from Heaven Breakfast Ministries operate on individual food and monetary donations and food donated by local restaurants and bakeries such as The Market Hall and Firenze Bakery Donations also have come from some of the program participants.
The day begins with David and Jocelyn arriving at 6:00 am to set up food and wash up supplies for our “family”
A variety of food is served including : cereal , milk, coffee, baked goods are served. If we are lucky a hot meal and fruit is served
Towels, Body wash, toothbrushes, razors, and complimentary toiletries are provided to program participants so they can wash up.
The program started with about 6 people; we are now up to 40. The ministry lets folks wash up while the food is being prepared. We then pray and make announcements allowing folks to serve themselves. We sometimes dish up hot meals to insure everyone eats.
Rev. Jocelyn always asks if folks want prayer and we pray as folks leave. Sometimes with individual prayer and sometimes in group.
“One day the guys ask about prayer and they all began to pray for me and each other; Oh how wonderful it was and continues to be”.
We put out some new testament pocket bibles purchased at the Dollar store and as with all the literature put out, we can’t keep up with all the Bibles that have.
Some of the guys won’t come for prayer, but proudly show me they have their Bibles and that they thank God every day.
I’m trying to start a choir. Some of the guys used to be professional singers and have asked for a choir “PRAY”!
Also, I’ve been asked to do a Bible Study Choir Monday at 9:00 am. Bible Study Friday at 9:00.
Everyday I leave full -- Full of Joy and Happiness. Everyday I smile because of these men and women , my family overwhelm my world and I’m so grateful to Rev. White and St. Paul for allowing me to open the doors for wonderful community, and I’m looking forward to what the Lord is going to do.
